Xubuntu Core is a slimmed-down version of the main distro Xubuntu and one of the lightest of Ubuntu flavors. This is absolutely suits for those who are looking for superfast performance in their daily use and for the old system.

This flavor comes with basic system utilities and an XFCE desktop environment, Due to its minimal nature, this doesn’t come with an office suite, media players, etc. However, you get the terminal though which is sufficient for users for installations.

How to Install

As per the official Xubuntu blog, the recommended way is to download a mini/server iso and install it. Once the installation finished run the below command to install the Xubuntu Core. The system has to be connected to the internet as it downloads and installs necessary packages from the ubuntu repository.
